There are different types of dementia, and Alzheimer’s is the most common type. It accounts for an estimated 60 to 80 percent of cases. Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.

How do you know if it’s Alzheimer’s or just “Old Age”?

Some memory loss is usually typical with age. However, chronic memory problems are usually the first signs of Alzheimer’s. Potential early warning signs are word finding trouble, vision and spatial mis-judgments, and impaired reasoning or irrational decision making.
