Fall Prevention is An Important Goal in Senior Home Care
One of the great benefits of home care is that it helps senior clients avoid the cycle of decline that…
Kosher diet has become increasingly popular during recent years and its health benefits are very interesting for several reasons. The fact that Kosher is not a type or style of food, rather it refers to the preparation, the components and probably the most important premise, the meticulous inspection of the ingredients and process overall, makes this choice a very healthy alternative for a diet.
During the last few years, several diets have been popping up. Most of those are not new, they are just adjusted versions of old ways to eat. The Ketogenic Diet, for example, was used with a lot of success for patients with brain seizures and has spread globally very fast with a lot of success stories of their followers.
Contrary to what everyone thinks, only 8% of Kosher consumers are strictly related religious, (Jews) and most of the consumers choose it for food safety, taste, vegetarianism and overall health stile.
The first and most obvious fact is that Kosher selected foods and ingredients are highly beneficial for the consumer, due to the very strict rules under which they are produced and as a consequence of the inspection, monitoring and certification. Fruits and Vegetables are monitored very carefully ensuring that do not contain any contamination, bugs or manipulation damage. That extremely tight surveillance ensures the safety and healthiness of the product.
For the community of Vegetarians, they are assured that those kosher products that are labelled as “pareve” are processed on equipment free of any dairy foods or meat. Meatless foods cannot contain any form of meat, which is helpful for those on a vegetarian or vegan diet.
Since Kosher foods have increased in popularity since the 1990’s, the availability of certified foods has been gaining popularity and at Assisting Hands, we have been making our caregivers aware of the importance of this way to manage and cook. We provide them with tools and information to assure the handling, management and process to maintain the quality and health benefits of this healthy choice.
