Michala S. Bell authentically characterizes herself as a purpose-driven servant leader. As a Social Worker of 15 years, she proudly proclaims that social work is not what she does, but who she is. Her vast social work experience includes support of adults diagnosed with mental illness, supporting students and families within schools, as well as coaching School Administrators and Teachers as they work to support social and emotional needs of their communities.
Michala and her husband, Ira D. Bell, Jr. owns and operates Assisting Hands Home Care in Palos Heights together. While exploring entrepreneurial opportunities that would allow for them to utilize their expertise, life experience, and passion for helping others, they found that Home Care was the perfect option. Michala believes the Senior and Elderly population is our most treasured resource and offers a comprehensive approach to home care needs that empowers them to live enriched lives. She is deliberate about developing a collaborative culture that inspires hard work, stands for creativity and innovation.
Michala earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University Of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Master of Social Work from the University of Chicago’s Social Service Administration program.
