Veteran Home Health Care benefits offer two programs for veterans and their spouses.
1-VA Home Health Aide (HHA)
The VA Home Health Aide (HHA) program is a service provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs to eligible veterans who require assistance with their daily living activities. Assisting Hands caregivers are trained healthcare professionals who provide essential support and care to veterans in their homes, allowing them to remain independent and comfortable.
Some of the services that we provide include assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, as well as meal preparation and light housekeeping. Our caregivers also assist with medication reminders, provide companionship, and can help veterans with mobility and transfers.
To qualify for the VA Home Health Aide program, veterans must have a clinical need for the service and meet certain eligibility criteria. Veterans must be enrolled in the VA healthcare system and have a physician’s order for HHA services.
Veterans and their spouses who need assistance with their daily living activities can benefit from the VA Home Health Aide program and they can maintain their independence in their own homes.
2- VA Respite Care
VA Respite Care is a program offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs that provides temporary relief to caregivers of veterans who require ongoing care due to a chronic illness, disability, or injury. Respite care can help reduce the stress and burden on caregivers while ensuring that veterans receive the support they need.
The VA offers several types of respite care, including in-home respite care, adult day care, and short-term stays in VA facilities.
Assisting Hands provides in-home respite care while the primary caregiver takes a break. Our caregivers are licensed and experienced to help our veterans.
