Assisting Hands Owner Awarded for Service Above and Beyond In-Home Senior Care

NAMPA, Idaho (February 22, 2016) — Assisting Hands Home Care today announced its Elgin, Illinois franchise owner has received the Civilian Fire Chief Award for helping to save the life of a senior man.

Franchise owner Angela Flintz was presented the award by the Elgin Fire Department. In addition to owning an Assisting Hands franchise, Flintz is a member of Elgin Triad, a group that teams with the police and fire department to serve elderly members of the Elgin community. During one of their monthly meetings, an elderly gentleman became unconscious. Flintz assisted one of the attending firefighters in a joint effort to resuscitate the senior. He regained consciousness, and a week later he was back on his feet

Flintz joined the Elgin Triad because of her deep-seated compassion and zeal for senior care; the same reasons she became the owner of an Assisting Hands Home Care business. Before becoming an owner of Assisting Hands, Flintz was a home health care nurse and case manager. She began to see a need for private in-home senior care when Medicare and Medicaid did not provide sufficient care for seniors due to regulations.

During that time, Flintz met several Assisting Hands employees and realized Assisting Hands provided the in-home senior care people need without the compulsory denial of government-funded healthcare providers.

“Becoming an Assisting Hands owner was an easy transition,” said Flintz. “I love having the corporate background and national recognition of Assisting Hands; and, of course, their good values and morals. Each franchisee is as compassionate as the other.” She added that she wishes she had become an Assisting Hands owner years ago.

Flintz has been president of Assisting Hands Elgin since 2014. She said she can still be a nurse, mentor, and in-home senior care provider while also being a part of the community and mother of three daughters.

About Assisting Hands Home Care

Assisting Hands Home Care began in 2005 and is based upon Dr. Gail Silverstein’s behind-the-scenes knowledge of the healthcare industry, coupled with her personal experience in helping her aging father at home. Dr. Silverstein created Assisting Hands and began franchising in 2006. Assisting Hands offers a comprehensive menu of services that includes non-medical companionship and personal care services, skilled nursing, and total care management, which fill the gap between living at home with dignity, and the need for institutionalized medical care. Single and multi-unit franchises are available, and franchisees may manage more than one franchise territory out of a single service office.  To learn more, call 866-924-2442 or visit www.assistinghandsfranchise.com.
