Assisting Hands Home Care Represented on Honor Flight Chicago

NAMPA, Idaho (July 19, 2017) — The national office of Assisting Hands Home Care announced today that franchise owner, Angela Flintz, traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of an elite team of medical personnel selected to accompany WWII and Korean War veterans on the 78th Honor Flight Chicago June 7. The trip involved 103 veterans, more than 30 family guardians, and a medical crew of ten which had been handpicked by Honor Flight Chicago based on a rigorous selection process.

Flintz was chosen based on her 17 years of nursing experience which includes emergency department, intensive care unit, trauma flight, home health care and community-based case management. For the past three years, she has owned and operated the Assisting Hands Home Care, which serves Elgin, Barrington and surrounding areas of Cook, Kane and McHenry Counties. Flintz is the first Assisting Hands Home Care franchise owner to participate in the Honor Flight Chicago program.

“I do a lot of local work with veterans and the Veteran’s Administration,” said Flintz. “To say this trip was amazing is an understatement. I was very humbled by this experience, to be able to witness firsthand the memories and emotions of these veterans.”

The daylong trip included visits to Arlington Cemetery, Air Force National Memorial, Pentagon, White House, WWII Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Wall, and Korean War Memorial. Of the 103 veterans, five were WWII veterans. The oldest participant, a 96-year-old WWII veteran, was a client and friend of Flintz.

“We offer the training, guidance, and tools for our franchise owners to be successful and they lead out in their communities in amazing ways,” said Lane Kofoed, CEO of Assisting Hands Home Care. “We are happy that Angela Flintz could represent Assisting Hands Home Care with the Chicago Honor Flight.”
