Home Health Care Company Expands Franchising to Canada

EDMONTON, Alberta (March 27, 2015) — Assisting Hands Home Care has sold its first Canadian in-home care franchise. In April of 2014, Jefferson Chan purchased the first international Assisting Hands franchise territory and during the second quarter of 2015, he plans to open his office in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Chan will be able to offer quality service to clients and their families, meeting their in-home care needs for the elderly, disabled or rehabilitative needs for those recovering from surgeries and various medical procedures.

“We were thrilled when we learned about Chan’s interests in opening an Assisting Hands franchise in Canada, and believe it’s a perfect area for expansion,” said Assisting Hands Home Care president and CEO Lane Kofoed. “The demographics in Chan’s area exemplify the same needs being seen by the United States’ aging Baby Boomers who are looking for quality in-home services rather than moving to a facility.”

A reputation for a successful and ethical franchise model proceeds Assisting Hands within the U.S. Kofoed knows the growing number of elderly residents in the Canadian province of Alberta could benefit from comprehensive services to meet their in-home care needs, including companionship and personal care services, skilled nursing, light housekeeping, errands, transportation to medical appointments and much more.

Assisting Hands is currently focused on expanding throughout North America, with franchise opportunities open in key markets within the United States, Canada and Mexico. About Assisting Hands Home Care
Assisting Hands Home Care began in 2005 and is based upon Dr. Gail Silverstein’s behind-the-scenes knowledge of the healthcare industry coupled with her personal experience in helping her aging father at home. Dr. Silverstein created Assisting Hands and began franchising in 2006. Assisting Hands offers a comprehensive menu of services that includes non-medical companionship and personal care services, skilled nursing, and total care management that fill the gap between living at home with dignity, and the need for institutionalized medical care. Single and multi-unit franchises are available, and franchisees may manage more than one franchise territory out of a single service office.
