In-home, Caregiving Franchise Poised for Growth

Nampa, Idaho – January 4, 2011  Assisting Hands®, a franchise system that provides non-medical caregiving services, today announced Lane R. Kofoed has been named chief executive officer effective January 1, 2011. Kofoed replaces franchising veteran and interim CEO, Dick Rennick.

Kofoed holds a Masters Degree in Business and Accounting from Brigham Young University. He has led the daily operations of Assisting Hands as president and chief operating officer prior to his appointment as CEO. His business background includes public accounting, financial auditing, systems integration and management consulting for Price Waterhouse and other consulting firms. Before joining Assisting Hands in June 2009, Kofoed owned several profitable small businesses in his native city of Boise, Idaho.

According to the National Institute on Aging, by the year 2015, 25 million U.S. residents will be between the age of 65 and 74. As the baby boomer generation continues to age, the need for cost-effective, in-home caregivers is expected to grow. Assisting Hands is a home care franchise poised to provide essential services to family members needing assistance with the care of a loved one.

“Lane’s entrepreneurial background, knowledge of technology and solid business practices have led to systems that make our franchise operations more efficient”, said Gail Silverstein, co-founder of Assisting Hands. “Lane has positioned our franchise owners to take advantage of the explosive growth the home care industry will see in the coming years.”

Ensuring the utmost support and ultimate success of every Assisting Hands franchise owner is an integral part of Kofoed’s management philosophy. Under his leadership the franchise has grown despite tough economic times.

“Our strength is found in our great family of franchise owners, and I am committed to their continued success,” said Kofoed. “Their hard work and dedication to client service coupled with the business model we have in place has us headed on the right path towards a bright future.”
