Meet our Owner, Office Manager, and HR Representative, Andy Kesti! He, along with his wife Kelly, own and operate Assisting Hands Home Care – Cave Creek, providing in-home care assistance to seniors in the North Valley and surrounding communities. I caught up with Andy to ask him some questions about his journey starting Assisting Hands Home Care – Cave Creek.
What inspired you to open an Assisting Hands franchise three years ago?
My wife and I had been discussing opportunities for starting a business for the past ten years. At the time I was working in the financial services space and Kelly was working as a nurse. We started looking for a business that would leverage both of our skill sets. In 2021 we were introduced to a couple who owned a home care business in Prescott, AZ. It did not take long for both of us to realize that home care was exactly what we were looking for.
In your view, what makes our agency’s approach to elder care unique compared to others?
One of the biggest challenges in providing care in the north east Phoenix metro area is the availability of caregivers. To address this, we look for caregivers who have great skills and are excited about the opportunity to work in the area we serve.
Your primary role with your company is the Office Manager, as well as Human Resources. What do you find you enjoy most about this role?
There are many parts of my job that I really enjoy. One that really sticks out in my mind is when we have the opportunity to help our caregivers increase their skill sets through training and certifications. This allows us to provide even better care to our clients and gives our caregivers an opportunity to earn a higher wage.
Can you share a favorite memory or moment from your journey of starting and building this company?
My favorite memory is when we hired our first caregiver and placed her with a client. It provided validation to me that we were giving great opportunities to caregivers, and also providing a much needed service to our clients.
What goals do you have for Assisting Hands Home Care Cave in the next few years?
We are working hard to find ways to deliver our usual high level of care to our clients who only need short visits. This is a challenge across the industry, and I believe our company can find a way to rise to meet this challenge!
