

This week, Assisting Hands in West Austin was thrilled to participate in the AustinUp 50+ Job Fair, held on April 6th at Affinity in Wells Branch.
The 2010 U.S. Census showed that the Austin area had the nation’s fastest-growing population of people between 55 and 64, and the second fastest-growing population of people 65 and over. This includes many older adults who are now seeking employment due to layoffs during COVID.
AustinUP is helping older adults in Austin navigate this shifting job market with job fairs, webinar training and educational opportunities. Consultants like Shay Hopson with The UPTeam and Elizabeth Moliter of Art of Work Consulting and employers like Seniors Helping Seniors®, Spring Hills Hospitals and Health Care, Emily (Emmie) Knox, LMSW, owner of Assisting Hands HomeCare, Thinkery, Literacy First, Cyndi Cummings Broker Associate at Realty Austin, Young Rembrandts Franchise, Sydney Greenwalt, Co Owner at Right At Home, HEAVENLY CARE HOME HEALTH, Brookdale Gaines Ranch, UnitedHealth Group realize the value of recruiting seasoned talent and were in attendance at the last job fair this week in Austin.
