With this program, veterans can receive home health care services for up to 12 hours per week. Those applying for this program will undergo an assessment to receive geriatric extended care (GEC) from a registered nurse (RN), social worker (SW), or a medical doctor (MD). To qualify, an individual must meet one of the following criteria:
- Must have 3 or more activity of daily living (ADL) dependencies
- Significant cognitive impairment
VA Respite Program
With this program, veterans can receive respite care or temporary home care. Those who apply must undergo an interdisciplinary assessment from registered nurses, social workers, and medical doctors and meet one of the following:
- Three or more ADL dependencies
- Significant cognitive impairment
