Caregiver of the Month
Maria Amaro
Our caregiver of the month is Maria Amaro. She was one of our very first hires at Assisting Hands in Arlington Heights and we are so lucky to have found her. Maria has experience working in nursing homes locally and in Rhode Island. This is her first experience in home care and she has excelled with the one-on-one attention she can give her clients. Her warm nature and passion for to helping others is unmatched. Maria once told me that she understands that what our clients need really goes well beyond taking care of their physical needs. She truly understands that being a caregiver is all encompassing. You are not only a caregiver, but a friend and a confidant. Maria keeps herself busy with two small children here in Arlington Heights. She is available for evening and weekend shifts.

- Why do you like being a caregiver? I like being a caregiver, because I love people. I want to improve their quality of life and soothe them if they are in pain.
- Why do you like working with Assisting Hands Home Care? Assisting Hands has enabled me to work in my field of choice while maintaining a flexible schedule. They provide high quality care for their clients and I’m happy to be a part of that.
- What do you like doing when you’re not working with Assisting Hands? I enjoy painting scenes of happy people and beautiful sceneries. I like to think I’m a chemist coming up with new recipes to feed my family’s hungry and very picky bellies.
