Your live-in caregiver can help you out of bed in the morning and assist with your morning shower and breakfast routine.  She can assure you take your medicine, drive you to appointments, and keep the house tidy. What do you need to do to prepare the home for a live-in caregiver?

Live In Care Arlington Heights ILWe simply ask that the live-in caregiver have a private space to sleep at night.  By law, he or she is required to have at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep.  The room can have a small area for her to keep belongs for a few days in your home.

At the change of shifts, each caregiver will wash the sheets and clean the room for the next live-in caregiver.

What’s the difference between 24 hour home care and live-in care?

24-hour home care means that the caregiver is awake and watching over you every hour of the day.  The 24/7 caregiver does not need a separate room in your house and she will be “on” for the entirety of her shift. This acute level of care is necessary for those who are waking several times throughout the night or those who may wander or fall during nighttime hours. In these cases, we have 2 caregivers per 24-hour day, alternating 12-hour shifts, to ensure 24 hours of attentive care.
