Our caregiver spotlight this month is Shawna.  Shawna is the kind of person who always wants to help jump in to help the office staff or any client who needs a hand.  She’s always a part of our events and activities, giving us that “spark” to get the party started. She truly exemplifies the word “team” so we decided it was fitting to celebrate this special lady during our fall sports-themed caregiver appreciation party.

When we asked Shawna why she likes working as a caregiver she told us that loves to take care of people and bring them joy. She said she chats with her clients and learns from them and their stories.

Sounds to me like Shawna has the heart of the caregiver!

This shining star has some advice to give to new caregivers at Assisting Hands Home Care:

First of all, you have to be very reliable and very respectful. Always speak your mind but in a respectful way. If you have a problem, come to the office and they will give good advice to resolve the issue. 

When she’s not working, Shawna likes to cook, clean, help her daughter with her homework, and catch up on some of her shows.

One day Shawna would like to be a registered nurse or accountant.
