How to get out and about in the sunshine this June
Do you ever feel that a good deal is just what you need to get out of the house and try something new? Arlington Heights Park District is one of the oldest and largest Park Districts in Chicagoland. Along with 6 public pools and 2 golf clubs, our district has 58 public parks ready to be explored for a quick walk, or a long walk, or even a picnic! The Arlington Heights Senior Center is also a part of the Arlington Heights Park District and is a wonderful wealth of activities, recreational classes, and resources for seniors.
*A quick note if you decide to bring your lunch to an Arlington Heights park: don’t feed the geese! Their populations have become a health concern, and if they continue to be fed by humans they won’t migrate to forage for food.
4. Arlington Heights Farmers’ Market

5. Mount Prospect Farmers Market

Sundays 8 am-1 pm
You can find the freshest produce around, and plenty of other crafts and treats to explore, at our local Farmer’s Markets! It’s the perfect time to get out for a little walk and see the community.
6. Arlington International Racecourse

Maybe you’re interested in having a little thrill seeing a horse race, or maybe even a bigger thrill betting on one! Going to Arlington Park may be just the thing to shake-up your summer routine.

7. Elk Pasture at Busse Forest (Ned Brown Preserve)

8. Chicago Botanic Gardens

Admission is free to get into these gorgeous gardens in summer bloom just a little drive from us! You do have to pay for parking, but the good news is they have a Senior discount: $10 on Tuesdays!
9. Brookfield Zoo
