During National Nurses Week, we want to say ‘thank you’ to all of the men and women who have chosen nursing as their vocation. These professionals often go unnoticed, but the medical community could not function without them!
As a nurse, they are able to touch the lives of those who are in need of care on a personal level, whether in a hospital, doctor’s office, rehab facility, in-home or other facility. They provide more than just comfort and care for their patients; nurses can reach into their soul and help them get through difficult times. They are there to make sure a patient is comfortable, even when there is no getting comfortable. They are there to make sure a patient and his or her family understands what they need to do so the patient can recover as quickly as possible.
Nurses have often been substitute family members; I have personally been comforted knowing a nurse was there to care for my family member while in the hospital or nursing home.
As the healthcare field continues to grow, nurses will be in more demand. This is why we all should be more aware of nurses and what they do for us.
At Assisting Hands® Home Care, we have nurses employed with us. These men and women are compassionate, caring, hard-working people who want to provide the best possible care to those in their charge. They are always learning and growing, becoming better at what they do every day. We couldn’t be any happier to have them on our team! Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants care enough to provide exceptional home care that will enrich the lives of our clients and provides peace of mind for their families.
Nurses offer our clients personalized in-home support services, assisting the elderly, disabled and others needing assistance to maintain quality of life. Nurses serve and support the individual’s choices and preferences to be in their own home in order to maintain their dignity and independence. Nurses assist clients in a spirit of concern for their welfare, gaining satisfaction and a sense of pride for the value that they add to their lives.
