At Assisting Hands Batavia, we believe in the power of community and the joy of celebration. Recently, we had the opportunity to bring both elements together in a heartwarming event. The event provided a wonderful platform for us to engage with local seniors, their families, and caregivers, offering valuable information about our home care services and more.
What’s the Purpose?
On December 18th, Assisting Hands Batavia had the pleasure of sponsoring a holiday luncheon for the Batavia Park District Seniors group. The purpose of this event was to bring the community together for a day of fun, connection, and festive cheer. Approximately 60 seniors attended, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere.
Our Experiences
We set up an information table where many attendees stopped by to learn about our services and gather information. Reggie Schorler, Community Care Director at Assisting Hands Home Care Batavia, had the opportunity to give a formal presentation on Assisting Hands and the variety of services we offer, such as personal care, dementia care, and hospice care. The attendees were very interested, asking many questions and expressing their enthusiasm for our services.
The event featured a delicious catered lunch with Sloppy Joes as the main course and a variety of holiday desserts to choose from. The afternoon concluded with entertainment consisting of Christmas music and songs by a very engaging and talented musician and singer. The seniors enjoyed making requests for their favorite songs and singing along, which added to the festive spirit.
It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the seniors, answer their questions, and see their enthusiasm for the event. The friendly interactions and the joy of celebration brought a contagious energy to the room, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
