Serve with Heart. Work with Purpose. Grow with Us.
At Assisting Hands Home Care – The Villages, caregiving is more than a job. It is a calling. We are a locally owned and operated home care agency serving Sumter, Lake, and Marion counties, and we are actively hiring compassionate caregivers, CNAs, and HHAs who want steady hours, fair pay, and a team that treats them like family.
Our clients are concentrated in and around The Villages, one of the largest and fastest-growing retirement communities in the country. For caregivers, that means something most agencies cannot offer: consistent client demand, shorter drives between shifts, and the ability to build a full schedule close to home.

- Paid time off, including PTO, sick days, and vacation days
- Employee recognition programs
- Commuting and travel assistance
- Flexible scheduling with day, night, weekend, and live-in shifts available
- Workplace perks such as recreation activities, food and coffee, and flexible work schedules
- Paid, ongoing training in dementia care, infection control, safe transfers, and Alzheimer’s communication
Now Hiring Caregivers Across Sumter, Lake, and Marion Counties
Most of our caregivers live in the communities surrounding The Villages, and we build every schedule around clients as close to home as possible. If you live in any of the areas below, we have clients near you.
Caregiver Jobs in The Villages and Lady Lake
This is the heart of our service area and where client demand is highest. Caregivers based in The Villages or Lady Lake can build a full weekly schedule with short drives between shifts, often staying inside a few square miles all day. If you want steady hours and minimal windshield time, this is the easiest place to fill a calendar.
Caregiver Jobs in Ocala and Belleview
Our Ocala and Belleview caregivers reach most clients with a straightforward drive down US-441 or US-301. If you live in Marion County, you can work close to home instead of commuting into The Villages, and we match you with the nearest clients first.
Caregiver Jobs in Leesburg and Fruitland Park
Leesburg and Fruitland Park sit 15 to 20 minutes from most of our client homes. It is an ideal base if you want consistent Lake County shifts without driving across county lines every day. We schedule Leesburg-area caregivers with clients on the south and west sides of our coverage whenever possible.
Caregiver Jobs in Wildwood, Oxford, and Summerfield
Wildwood, Oxford, and Summerfield sit right in the middle of our coverage area, which means short drives in almost any direction. Caregivers based here have some of the most flexible scheduling options we offer, since clients across all three counties are within easy reach.
You choose your availability, and we build your schedule around it with clients as close to home as possible.
What You’ll Do as a Caregiver (CNA/HHA)
You will support clients in their own homes with daily activities that help them stay independent and safe:
- Personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care
- Mobility assistance: safe transfers, ambulation, and repositioning
- Meal preparation: planning and cooking nutritious meals
- Medication reminders: helping clients stay on schedule
- Companionship: conversation, engagement, and emotional support
- Light housekeeping: laundry, dishes, and keeping the home safe and clean
- Transportation: appointments, errands, and social outings
- Observing and reporting: communicating changes in client condition to office staff
CNA/HHA Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare industry experience
- Active Level 2 Background Screening
- CNA License or HHA Certification (preferred)
- CPR certification and TB test (preferred)
- A compassionate heart, strong communication skills, and reliability
Don’t have every item on this list? Apply anyway. If you have the experience and the heart for this work, we will help you with the rest, including guidance on the Level 2 screening process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need a CNA license to work here?
No. A CNA or HHA credential is preferred but not required. You need at least one year of healthcare or caregiving experience and an active Level 2 background screening.
What is a Level 2 background screening, and how do I get one?
Florida requires caregivers to complete a fingerprint-based Level 2 screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, overseen by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). If you have not completed one, our office will walk you through the process.
Where are your clients located?
Our clients live in The Villages, Lady Lake, Ocala, Oxford, Wildwood, Leesburg, Belleview, and the surrounding areas of Sumter, Lake, and Marion counties. We match you with clients near where you live whenever possible.
Can I work part-time?
Yes. We offer part-time, full-time, day, night, weekend, and live-in schedules. You tell us your availability and we build around it.
How quickly can I start?
Most qualified applicants complete the full process, from application to first shift, within one to two weeks. Having an active Level 2 screening on file speeds this up.
