Summer is upon us, and many families are making travel plans! If your plans include a Senior, here are some tips to make it a great multi generational vacation for everyone!
Choose a place that has something to offer for everyone. I’ve heard from several families that they enjoy multi generational travel while cruising. Cruising has something for just about everyone. Each person in the family can go their own direction during the day getting their fill of as much or as little activity they need, and get together later for dinner.
If cruising isn’t quite what your family had in mind, consider picking a place that has something for everyone. If the Senior’s in your life are still driving, they might enjoy being able to go their own way during the day to explore. Destinations like Nashville might fit the bill. If the senior in your life enjoys sitting back and reading a book, consider a trip near a national park, where the more adventurous travelers can get out and explore while the elders relax. As with a cruise, everyone can regroup in the afternoons.
Another great multi generational option is renting a vacation home. Vacation homes tend to be much larger than hotels, and generally afford everyone their own room. Some vacation homes, such as Summer Breeze in Davenport, FL are setup with a master bedroom on the main floor, as well as one upstairs. This is a great option if traveling as a larger family, especially for those that have difficulties with stairs, and also allows you to cook family meals together. Rentals like this are often located in communities with resort-style amenities, with something for everyone.
Regardless of the trip you choose, a multi-generational trip will create memories that will last for years to come!
