Dear Friends and Family,
I want to share a very special opportunity with you and invite you to join me in supporting an important cause.
One of my dearest friends and former college roommates, Izi Stoll, Ph.D., is a scientist and the Co-Founder and CEO of Numiera Therapeutics. A few years ago, Izi and her team discovered a promising new treatment approach for brain tumors. Now, their hard work has reached an exciting milestone: Numiera Therapeutics has been awarded $2.3 million in grant funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support clinical trials for a new cancer drug.
This is an incredible step forward for their research and, most importantly, for patients and families affected by brain tumors. Although Izi now lives in Colorado, she wanted to celebrate this important milestone by bringing her mission back to Chicago and giving back to the brain tumor community here.
Join Us at Head for the Cure
As many of you know, I founded Assisting Hands Melrose Park, a home care and home hospice organization dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate their care journeys. Supporting patients, caregivers, and families is deeply personal to me, which is why I am especially excited to connect with the brain tumor community and support this cause.
I hope you will join us for the Annual Head for the Cure 5K Walk/Run in Chicago.
- Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026
- Time: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- Location: Diversey Harbor, Lincoln Park, Chicago
Numiera Therapeutics is proud to participate as a Hope Sponsor of this year’s event. Last year’s event raised more than $25,000 in grants benefiting Advocate Health Care’s Brain and Spine Institute, supporting clinical nurse staffing, research, and patient care. This year, the goal is even bigger.
Your participation can help support important brain tumor research and patient care through Head for the Cure and Advocate Health Care.
How You Can Help
If you’re in Chicago, join us for the walk and help us celebrate hope for patients and families affected by brain tumors. If you can’t attend, you can still donate to support the cause. And if you know someone who may want to participate, please consider sharing this opportunity with them.
