Did you know that National Nursing Assistants’ Week is coming up June 17th-24th? At Assisting Hands, we love to celebrate CNA Week by showering our CNAs with some extra love and attention! We know that it is a great accomplishment to become certified and we love to show our CNA’s that we appreciate all the time and effort they put into their education to become licensed professionals in the home care field.
What is a CNA?
You may be wondering, what exactly is a CNA? CNA stands for Certified Nursing Assistant. Assisting Hands is an entirely non-medical home care agency, so we do not require our Caregivers to be CNAs, but many of them are!
CNAs in Illinois are background checked and registered with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) as are all caregivers. CNAs must also pass a training program and a written test to become certified. They must continue to work in the healthcare field in order to maintain their certification as well.
We want our CNA Caregivers to know that all of their hard work does not go unnoticed! We appreciate having such qualified caregivers on our team to help us with their hands-on experience and expertise.
Thank you CNAs!
So join us this week as we give a big hand to our favorite helpful hands, our Assisting Hands CNAs! Thank you for all the joy, not to mention the skilled care, that you give to our seniors!
