Our compassionate and dedicated caregivers are often unsung heroes, and so it’s always a pleasure when we can give them the recognition they deserve. This year, we’re so proud of Assisting Hands Arlington Heights’ very own Susan Rose, who was nominated for the Above the Best Caregiver of the Year Award. This prestigious honor is given to one outstanding caregiver each year who goes above and beyond expectations.
We’re so proud of Susan, who truly embodies the spirit of the ATB award. An exemplary and empathetic employee, Susan’s warmth and genuine companionship helps win over even the most resistant clients. She approaches challenging cases with a calm demeanor and positive attitude, and has a gift for working with those with memory loss.
As a thoughtful and detail-oriented caregiver, Susan goes the extra mile to meet her clients’ needs. She’s also full of surprises! Susan often brings her own baking supplies to work to cook special treats, or engages clients in memory-building activities like a “Book of Questions.” For clients who have a hard time seeing or reading on their own, Susan will read novels to them in her [calm] voice.
She’s also a superb writer, and takes excellent notes about her visits. Family members love to read Susan’s reflections on their loved one’s day in the Family Room portal. She truly has made a difference in the lives of so many individuals, and takes pride in knowing that her visits are the highlight of her clients’ week!
Awarded at our Assisting Hands national retreat, the annual ATB award honors exceptional caregivers who tirelessly provide unwavering support to their clients, both physically and emotionally. The award is given to an outstanding caregiver who elevates our industry standard and sets the bar even higher for caregivers across the board. In addition to national recognition, winners earn a beautiful award and a $500 gift.
Please join us in celebrating Susan, who continues to spread joy and bring comfort to all those she meets!
