Award-Winning Home Care Agency Serves Families in Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties
SEA GIRT, NJ—January 24, 2023—To enhance care of families, in Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counites, a member of the Assisting Hands® Home Care staff has earned the Certified Dementia Practitioner® CDP® designation, which is considered a premier standard of Alzheimer’s and dementia care within the healthcare industry. Assisting Hands Home Care is a Sea Girt-based company that provides professional in-home care services to clients so they can remain safe and happy at home.
Victoria Hurley-Schubert, director of community relations, earned the CDP designation from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners this week.
“Dementia and Alzheimer’s care is very personal to me, I wish I had learned all of this when my grandmother was suffering with this terrible disease many years ago,” said Hurley-Schubert. “The care options and education around it has grown by leaps and bounds since then and I am proud to be part of it, assisting families along their journey with education and resources.”

The CDP certification represents that the front-line staff and health care professional has received comprehensive knowledge in dementia care, achievement in completing the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care course/seminar, met the NCCDP requirements for CDP certification, applied for the CDP certification and received the CDP certification. The CDP commits to ongoing professional development through NCCDP Staff Education Week or other educational opportunities and re-certification every two years.
“As a leader in home care for those with long-term memory-altering illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, we take education seriously,” said Gerry Patrizio, MBA, CSA, CDP, Assisting Hands owner. “Many of our clients have some form of dementia or cognitive impairment, so having everyone educated with industry-leading best practices allows us to continue providing award-winning care to families in Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean Counties.”
A CDP certification reflects a deep personal commitment on the part of the front-line staff, health care professional, and the organization’s sense of accountability by abiding by NCCDP ethics statement, inspiring confidence and dedication in an individual’s professional knowledge through quality of life and quality of care provided by the CDP to the dementia patient.
