Understanding the different services available through the DDD's Support Program can be overwhelming. Each one has different functions and goals to help individuals reach their fullest potential.
Assisting Hands provides the following supports with DSPs through the DDD:
COMMUNITY-BASED SUPPORTS: One-to-one direct support that promotes increased independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning, and inclusion in the community.
Services can include:
- One-on-one tutoring
- Assist in activity participation, such as a class, recreational outing or dining at a restaurant
- Assist with life skills
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Job site assistance with self-care, social skills and ADLs
INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTS: One-to-one direct support that promotes increased independence, productivity, enhanced family functioning, and inclusion in the community.
Services can include:

RESPITE: Short-term care/support of an individual due to the absence or need for relief of the usual caregiver(s)
