Non-Medical Home Care Serving Satellite Beach and the Beachside Communities

For non-medical home care in Satellite Beach, Florida, call Assisting Hands Home Care at (321) 455-5778. Ask us about a free in-home consultation.

Assisting Hands Home Care – Brevard County, FL is a full-service, non-medical home care agency. We work with older adults who want to stay in the homes they know as they age, along with adults living with a disability and adults recovering from an illness, injury, or hospital stay. No two clients get the same care plan, because no two households run the same way. We form care plans around your loved one’s routine, health situation, mobility, and the help family members are already providing.

Many of the families we serve on the barrier island have been in the same house for thirty or forty years. Moving into a facility means giving up the walk to the beach, the neighbors who check in, and the routines that make a day feel normal. Home care is often the option that keeps all of that in place while still covering the tasks that have gotten harder.

What Our Home Care Services Cover

  • Personal care: Our caregivers assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing and showering, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, incontinence care, and safe transfers.
  • Fall prevention and mobility support: We keep an eye on walkways, bathrooms, and stairs, assist with walkers and canes, and stay close during the movements where falls usually happen.
  • Medication reminders: Caregivers remind your loved one when it is time to take a dose and let the family know if something is being skipped or refills are running low.
  • Meal preparation: We shop for groceries, plan meals around dietary restrictions ordered by a physician or dietitian, cook, serve, and clean up afterward.
  • Light housekeeping and laundry: Dishes, laundry, bed linens, vacuuming, dusting, tidying, and taking out the trash so the home stays livable and safe to move through.
  • Transportation and errands: For clients who no longer drive, we provide non-emergency transportation to medical appointments, the pharmacy, church, the salon, and social visits, and we handle errands when your loved one would rather stay home.
  • Companion care: Caregivers spend real time with your loved one, talking, playing cards, working on a puzzle, taking a walk, or helping with a hobby. Isolation wears on seniors living alone, and this part of the job matters as much as the physical help.
  • Alzheimer’s and dementia care: Our caregivers are trained to work with memory loss at home, using consistent routines, memory exercises, redirection, and positive reinforcement to ease agitation, repetition, and other common behaviors.
  • Parkinson’s care: We help those who experience tremors, stiffness, and balance changes that come with Parkinson’s disease, adjusting how we help as symptoms shift through the day.
  • Post-hospital and after-surgery care: When your loved one comes home from the hospital or a surgical procedure, we help them follow their discharge instructions, watch for changes in their condition, keep them on schedule with medications, and take the physical work off their hands while they heal.
  • Respite care: Family caregivers burn out. We step in for a few hours a week or a few weeks at a stretch so you can go to your own appointments, work, travel, or simply rest.
  • Overnight care: For seniors who are unsafe alone after dark, a caregiver arrives in the evening and stays awake through the night to help with bathroom trips, wandering, or anything else that comes up.
  • 24-hour and live-in care: With live-in care, one caregiver lives in the home and sleeps at night. With 24-hour care, caregivers rotate in shifts so someone is always awake and alert in the home around the clock.
  • Hospice support care: We provide supplemental personal care and household help for families going through hospice, covering the hands-on daily tasks that hospice teams do not.

Who We Care for in Satellite Beach

Starting Care: Your Free In-Home Consultation

Care starts with a visit, not a quote over the phone. A member of our staff comes to the home, meets your loved one and the family together, and walks through an ordinary day to understand when they get up, what they can still manage alone, where they struggle, what medications they take, how they get around the house, and what help relatives are already covering.

From that conversation we write the care plan and set a caregiver schedule that works for everyone, including the family members coordinating from out of town. Needs change, sometimes quickly after a hospital stay or a new diagnosis, and we revise the plan and the schedule when they do.

Our Caregivers

Your loved one is cared for by caregivers who are licensed, bonded, and insured, and who have passed our background screening. They are trained in personal care and household support, and in caring for clients with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and other chronic conditions. We also pay attention to fit when we assign a caregiver, because someone who is technically qualified but a poor match for your loved ones will not last long in the home.

Veterans and Their Spouses

Satellite Beach sits next to Patrick Space Force Base, and a large share of the beachside community is retired military. Assisting Hands Home Care – Brevard County works with veterans and surviving spouses who may qualify for home care benefits through the VA. If you are not sure what your loved one is eligible for, call us and we will walk you through it.

I can't say enough about Assisting Hands of Brevard. The office staff is so kind, efficient, professional and accommodating. The caretakers who were provided were so very kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and so caring toward my husband who has Alzheimer's. His condition was re-evaluated requiring a change in approach to his care. However, should his condition take another turn and require home care, we would call on Assisting Hands in a nano-second!

My parents needed care as my mom's Alzheimer's began to progress. From the beginning the staff has been awesome! The first person my parents and I met with was Anna their Care Manager. She was patient, sincere and spent over two hours with us explaining the services and supports Assisting Hands provides. Even before services began Tyler, the owner, reached out to explain a billing question. When the care takers began they were wonderful! So gentle and patient with my mom. DLinda you are the best! We trust and appreciate Assisting Hands so much, that after my parent's failed attempt at an assisted living facility, we called Assisting Hands and are using them again. We are so lucky to get one of the original ladies back. The staff is like family. I honestly don't know where I would be with my parent's care without them. Thank you Tyler, Anna, DLinda and Pat.

I can’t say enough great things about Assisting Hands! When my mom was diagnosed with cancer we needed helping caring for my dad who had dementia. The staff at Assisting Hands were amazing (from the owner, nurse manager to the care givers) and didn’t just care for my dad, they cared about him! They also supported my brother and I during this most difficult season. Would definitely recommend this agency.
