At Assisting Hands Home Care in Geneva, we believe in fostering strong connections and brightening the lives of the seniors we serve. Every event we host is more than just a gathering—it’s an opportunity to share laughter, create new memories, and build a sense of community. Recently, we had the joy of celebrating National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day with the wonderful residents of The Reserve of Geneva, an Independent Living community. The event was filled with warmth, engagement, and delicious treats that brought back cherished memories.
Bringing Nostalgia & Flavor to the Table
Food has a unique way of connecting people, and what better way to do so than with a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Residents delighted in crafting their own sandwiches, choosing from a selection of breads, smooth or crunchy peanut butter, and grape or strawberry jelly. The excitement of personalizing their favorite childhood snack sparked joyful conversations and laughter. To add an extra touch of sweetness, we provided freshly baked sugar cookies, making the afternoon even more special.
Sharing Our Mission & Services
Beyond the delicious treats, the event was also a wonderful opportunity to introduce Assisting Hands and the compassionate home care services we provide. We strive to support seniors in maintaining their independence while ensuring they receive the care and companionship they deserve. As we opened the floor to questions, it was heartening to see so many residents eager to learn more about how we can assist them in their daily lives.
Fun, Trivia, and Friendly Competition
What’s a celebration without some fun and games? Our peanut butter and jelly trivia brought out the competitive spirit in the room, with residents enthusiastically participating and sharing laughs over some surprising PB&J facts. The excitement continued with a raffle, where lucky winners received whimsical peanut butter and jelly-themed prizes, adding an extra element of fun to the afternoon.
A Heartfelt Thank You
This event was a touching reminder of the power of community, connection, and the simple joys that bring people together. We are incredibly grateful to the staff and residents of The Reserve of Geneva for welcoming us so warmly. It was a pleasure to spend time with such a wonderful group, and we look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate, engage, and support the residents through future events.
