We are proud to announce the caregiver of the year.  With a year that brought so many challenges, Octavia was one bright star within our team in 2020. In addition to our Caregiver of the year award, Octavia was also chosen as a nominee for the annual Above the Best National Caregiver Award out of 70 National Offices.

Octavia brings such a loving and caring attitude to work each day!  She is an extension of the Assisting Hands Family, in which she calls past client family members and wishes them a Happy Birthday.  Octavia will often go on her own time to pick up groceries for an elderly client.  She even went one hour before her shift started to help a client discharge from the hospital.  This made the client’s day!  We are so proud to have her as a part of our Assisting Hands Family

Octavia became a caregiver in 2019.  She has worked with clients with dementia, COPD, and renal failure.  While she loves each and every client she works with, she especially likes to work with veterans.  She takes the time to thank them for their service and listen to their stories.  Octavia really enjoys being a caregiver, it gives her a chance to give back to the community by showing love and respect to seniors.
