PENSION WITH AID & ATTENDANCE
Millions of America’s senior citizens are veterans or surviving spouses of veterans and many can benefit from in-home care.
As these heroes grow older, they often prefer to spend their senior years at home, surrounded by their favorite people and familiar things.
Staying in a comfortable, known environment can greatly enhance their quality of life and dignity.
Fortunately, a lesser-known Veterans Administration benefit, the Pension with Aid & Attendance, can significantly aid in funding this care.
The Pension with Aid & Attendance benefit provides up to $25,525 annually to those who qualify, helping cover the costs of in-home care.
By utilizing the Pension with Aid & Attendance benefit, veterans and their surviving spouses can maintain their independence and continue living in the comfort of their own homes, rather than moving to a facility.
This support ensures they receive the care they need while staying close to what they cherish most.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PENSION WITH AID & ATTENDANCE
The Pension with Aid & Attendance is available to veterans and surviving spouses of veterans who meet specific criteria:
It is not necessary for the veteran to have served in a combat zone or overseas.
The veteran must have been honorably discharged.
To apply for the VA Aid and Attendance (A&A) program, which provides additional monthly payments to qualified veterans and their surviving spouses who need help with daily living activities, follow these steps:
