The Torch Awards for Ethics is an annual recognition administered by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to select businesses who have demonstrated a level of trust worthy of distinction. Such businesses are led by individuals who display a high degree of integrity, commitment to sound ethics, and who foster trust between their organization and its customers.
The criteria for the award are based on the BBB’s Standards for Trust, which include embodying integrity, upholding promises, advertising honestly, and honoring privacy, among other criteria.

Contestants may self-nominate to be considered, which involves being assessed by a group of volunteers from other businesses and the broader community who select finalists based on how each business performs in the four key areas of character, culture, customers, and community.
