“After researching various home care franchise opportunities, I chose Assisting Hands® Home Care due to their focus on high-quality care, the camaraderie among franchise owners, and the high level of support from the franchiser. Based out of Bedford, MA, our office offers the highest quality of care delivered by a team of caregivers I would trust with my own family. Our franchise is consistently winning awards from Home Care Pulse® as a Best of Home Care Provider of Choice within the greater Boston area.” – Dave Tasto
Because everyone deserves the best care possible
A Team Caregiving Approach Like No Other
At Assisting Hands of Boston Northwest, our caregivers are the heart of our business. Providing award-winning care starts with having the best caregivers in the Boston area thanks to this proven process:
Screening and background checks
Our rigorous on-boarding process includes interviews, a competency exam, clinical skill review, criminal and driving background checks, CPR certification, and an orientation training session led by a registered nurse. Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) or home health aides (HHAs) deliver all our care. For our clients’ added protection, Assisting Hands is bonded and insured.
Ongoing staff training
Once hired, our caregivers undergo continuous training and education, allowing them to adapt to evolving client needs. Administered by our Manager of Nursing, Assisting Hands’ comprehensive training program includes modules on supporting clients in the home with cognitive decline and dementia, incontinence and hygiene issues, personal care limitations, or post-surgery recovery concerns.
Additionally, specialized training modules enhance our caregivers’ ability to care for clients with conditions like COPD, diabetes, heart failure, or stroke-related complications. Once completed, our caregivers can then monitor and provide interventions to keep symptoms under control or take all actions possible to prevent emergency trips to the hospital.
A passion for serving others
As a caregiver, possessing a caring heart and the strong desire to serve others is just as important as having specific credentials. At Assisting Hands of Boston Northwest, we get to know each of our caregivers to determine what aspects of the profession they enjoy the most. We work hard to reward and recognize our team while encouraging them to focus on bringing smiles to those in their care. Our leadership is so proud of all team members, and we thank them for their ongoing commitment to serving others.
Client relationships
Each new case starts with conducting a complimentary home safety evaluation. These in-home checks allow us to identify potential fall risks and recommend home modifications that ensure a safer environment for all parties involved. We are experts at matching caregivers to each client’s individual needs and preferences. Our detailed client assessment process helps our office team understand and address all care aspects, including communication with family members.
Having a firm grasp on our clients’ interests, personalities, and preferences fosters a caregiver selection process that cultivates relationship bonds starting with the very first shift. Having over 30 attributes documented for each caregiver allows us to make the best match for each client.
Latest technology
At Assisting Hands, we embrace and leverage the latest technology to provide the best care possible. Our custom smartphone app manages the quality of care and streamlines communications by managing these tasks:
- Provides caregivers with electronic access to hospital care plan details and notes related to specific activities of daily living (ADLs) that clients need help performing.
- Maintains electronic clock-ins and outs to accurately track billable hours, complete with a GPS-supported location confirmation and arrival feature.
- Allows caregivers to electronically log care notes from each shift, providing family members with immediate access. This feature also enables our office team to identify potential care escalations that require follow-up.
Our online, secure Family Portal offers real-time updates to family members, including progress, observations, and care notes after each shift. An Assisting Hands registered nurse and licensed social worker can address any care escalations by coordinating with various health care providers.
