At Assisting Hands we know that every situation is unique and requires the greatest amount of care possible. That’s why our team members receive special training on how to help and assist client struggling with dementia, alzheimer’s, parkinsons, and even PTSD for our beloved veterans.
Having a professional caregiver in the home will ensure that our loved one’s safety is not forgotten. They will help them find the clicker and make sure the stove is off. Having a consistent caregiver also helps provide a routine, which is essential for patients with memory impairments. A caregiver will be able to prevent a loved one from wandering by providing companionship and supervision in the home. They can distract and refocus the patient to decrease the need to wander.
Let Assisting Hands® Home Care help you! At Assisting Hands® Home Care we believe in using a team approach that includes coordination with doctors, neurologists, nurses, social workers, therapists, family members, and others involved in our client’s healthcare needs. Our Caregivers and Certified Nurse Assistants are trained to adapt to the changing needs because no two people experience Parkinson’s Disease in the same way. As a result, there’s no one approach to caregiving. Our main goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and the family.
Most veterans are not aware of the eldercare benefits available through veterans’ health care. One particular VA program is called Veterans Pension or more commonly known as “Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit”. Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit can provide up to $2,200 per month for veterans and their spouses and can be used to pay for personal care services.
Planning for the end-of-life process is a strenuous experience faced by all who are affected. It is a difficult reality to come to terms with for both the diagnosed and their families. With Assisting Hands, each client is given the ability to live and pass, with dignity. Our caregivers work with your family and your loved one’s hospice provider to ensure end-of-life care is provided according to their plan.
