Long Term Care Insurance

As you or your loved ones age, considering long-term care insurance options can provide peace of mind and financial security in times of need. Our mission is to assist you in understanding the benefits of long-term care insurance.

Understanding Long Term Care Insurance:

Long term care insurance is designed to cover services that aren’t typically included in regular health insurance or Medicare. This includes assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating, as well as more comprehensive care for chronic illnesses or disabilities. At Assisting Hands® Home Care, we understand the importance of these services and are dedicated to providing personalized care that enhances the quality of life for our clients.

How We Work With Long Term Care Insurance:

  • Simplified Billing: We handle the complexities of billing directly with your insurance provider, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for you. Our administrative team is experienced in working with various long term care insurance policies and will coordinate the details on your behalf.
  • Coverage Verification: Before starting services, we verify your insurance coverage to provide a clear understanding of the benefits available to you. This helps in planning and ensuring that you receive the maximum benefits from your policy.
  • Comprehensive Services: Our range of services covered by long term care insurance includes personal care, companionship, transportation, and specialized care for conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. We tailor our services to meet your specific needs, ensuring you receive the best possible care.
  • Peace of Mind: By accepting long term care insurance, we relieve the financial burden associated with in-home care. Families can focus on their loved ones’ well-being, knowing that the financial aspects are taken care of.

Why Choose Assisting Hands?

In addition to providing award-winning support for folks with cognitive conditions like Alzheimer’s/dementia or Parkinson’s Disease, we are experts at preventing hospital stays.

Preventing hospitalizations, and keeping individuals out of the hospital is critically important. Particularly during the pandemic, and also now – no one wants to spend time in the hospital. A key metric that measures our performance is our Hospital Readmission Rate – which we are quite proud of, and have been recognized for having one of the lowest readmission rates in the country for non-medical home care – in the low single digits.

On average, nearly one in 5 Medicare patients goes back to the hospital within just 30 days after a previous discharge. Meaning that our likelihood of going back to the hospital is significantly increased after having just come out of the hospital. We probably all know friends or relatives who have been in the hospital recently…extra support and attention are needed right after a discharge to ensure a return trip can be avoided.

At Assisting Hands, we employ our unique Thriving at Home approach to preventing hospital stays. This ensures our clients get help when needed, but our philosophy is to maintain our client’s independence. If we can help our clients only where they need the help and encourage them to do as much as they can, then they will continue to do much more on their own. Our strong communications and extensive Caregiver training also bolster the Thriving at Home approach, which is all captured in a book I wrote during the pandemic called: Thriving at Home – A Handbook for Preventing Hospital Stays.

“Our caregivers are the heart of who we are at Assisting Hands Home Care. Our highest priority is taking care of our team, as our caregivers provide amazing direct care for our clients. We are honored to have won this award 5 years in a row – being an Employer of Choice in the Boston area validates our commitment to our team!“ – says Dave Tasto, CDP President, Assisting Hands Home Care – Boston Northwest (Lexington, MA).
