Yes! We offer flexible scheduling, including hourly care, overnight care, and 24/7 support – all days of the week.
Yes! Nearly all Assisting Hands caregivers are CNAs (Certified Nurse Assistants) or HHAs (certified Home Health Aides). All are W-2 employees, not 1099 contractors, and undergo national criminal background checks, initial orientation training, and continuous education to ensure high-quality, professional care.
In addition, our caregivers are offered a supplemental Thriving at Home Certification training providing them with the ability to identify and escalate concerns and keep our clients healthy at home, and out of the hospital.
Our Lexington office is locally owned and operated and believes a supportive and knowledgeable office staff is key to ensuring quality service for our community. We have a team of Case Managerswho are all clinical professionals. Our Client Care team oversees each of our clients; they educate, support, and collaborate with families and our caregivers to ensure the care we provide is appropriate and meets the individual needs of our clients. Our team of Scheduling Coordinators works 24/7 to ensure our caregiving employees are assigned and prepared to meet the requested schedule of our clients. This specialized and personalized care sets our service apart from other organizations.

Lastly, we provide supplemental Thriving at Home certification training for our caregivers, to empower them in mitigating the causes for unneeded hospitalizations. Our caregivers are thoroughly screened, bonded, and insured. Prior to the start of care, we provide a complimentary home safety evaluation – helping to ensure a safe environment for our clients and our employees. Our Client Care team provides regular supervisory visits and maintains on-going communication with clients, family members, and employed caregivers. Our caregivers check-in and out for each shift through a GPS-enabled mobile app.
We offer flexible care options to ensure the best care experience. Visits can be from a few hours per day up to 24 hours per day, any number of days per week.
In most cases, we can start services within 24 to 48 hours after an in-home care assessment is complete.
Yes! Our caregivers can assist with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, social outings, and errands.
Yes! Our caregivers can prepare meals and accommodate special dietary requirements.
Yes! Our employees can provide medication reminders and assistance but we do not dose or administer medications. A critical service associated with medication reminders is actual verification of medication – confirming that proper medication has been taken – and this is included in our standard rates.
Yes! Our caregivers engage clients in conversation, activities, games, and outings to enhance emotional well-being and reduce isolation.
Yes! Our caregivers can provide one-on-one support in any home or care setting, including assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation center, and hospitals.
Yes! We offer care and family support for individuals receiving hospice or palliative care. This allows family members the space needed and for them to be a spouse, son/daughter or relative again and not a caregiver for their loved one during a challenging time.
Yes! Assisting Hands is VA-certified and approved to provide care to veterans as authorized by the VA. We provide services through the VA-funded Home Health Aide Program.
We offer respite care so family caregivers can take a break while ensuring their loved one receives compassionate care. In addition, our Case Managers and team are available to help coach and train on specific aspects of care or help with understanding a specific condition or diagnosis. Our Registered Nurses can help with follow-ups to primary care physicians or other clinicians to support the continuity of care our client’s family members expect.

While private duty care is typically paid out-of-pocket, we accept long-term care insurance and are experts at helping our clients maximize the benefits they deserve. We are also contracted with the Veterans Administration through the VA Home Health Aide program. These both offset the cost of care for our clients.
