Blossom was a finalist for last year’s Home Care Owners of America Caregiver of the Year award. No one had a better story than Endam “Blossom” Ajeck, so to me she was the all around winner! Endam is a true Caregiver Superhero.

Endam “Blossom” Ajeck has worked with Assisting Hands Lombard since she has been in the United States. She was a nurse in her home country of Cameroon (Africa). She tells stories of wanting to be a nurse her whole life. Her father was a nurse and would take her with him to visit people in their homes and tend to their needs.

When Blossom was nursing in Cameroon, she also became politically active on behalf of women’s rights. She was exiled by her government, left her husband and young daughters behind, and sought asylum in the US. I was lucky enough to have her walk into my office only weeks after making it to the Chicago area.

It has been evident to all who meet her that her knowledge base is that of a nurse. Blossom has maximum assist skills, and wins the hearts as well of all the people she serves.

Blossom most recently passed her nursing exam in the United States. Even though she is working officially as a full fledged nurse here, she works for Assisting Hands on her off days because she loves it so much. Blossom is looking forward to another milestone this summer. Her family has an interview with immigration in June. With any luck, after 5 years of being a long distance wife and mother, Blossom hopes to be reunited in the USA with her husband and 2 daughters! Let’s wish her well.
