On November 8, 2025, Assisting Hands Home Care of Lombard was honored to take part in a meaningful Veterans Day event led by Leroy Popadowski, Commander of the VFW in Wood Dale. The day began with a veterans breakfast at Salt Creek Banquet Club in Wood Dale, bringing together local veterans and community members to share stories, gratitude, and fellowship.
Following the breakfast, the group continued to Radcliff Assisted Living and Memory Care, where VFW members presented a moving “Call to Colors” honor guard ceremony, followed by a traditional flag folding ceremony. Each moment served as a powerful reminder of the service and sacrifice made by our nation’s veterans.
As part of the event, Assisting Hands of Lombard was proud to contribute personalized “Thank You” signs, hand-made especially for the veterans in attendance. It was a small but heartfelt gesture to express our appreciation and respect for those who have served.
At Assisting Hands, we believe supporting seniors also means supporting the communities they helped build. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor our veterans and to stand alongside local organizations that share our commitment to compassion, dignity, and service.
If you or a loved one—including our valued veterans—could benefit from compassionate, professional in-home care, Assisting Hands Home Care of Lombard is here to support you.
