Veteran Home Care Services in Fort Worth, TX

Before receiving care through our VA care program, veterans must apply through the Department of Veterans Affairs to see if they qualify for VA benefits.  Those who do can use these benefits to help cover home care and respite care through our VA programs.  Our caregivers provide quality care for veterans and their spouses, including personal care, assistance with daily living activities, transportation, and more. You can expect our caregivers to always treat your loved ones with compassion and respect while accommodating their care needs.

We proudly help veterans with disabilities, war veterans, and those facing challenges as a result of their service. Our mission is to provide compassionate and specialized care that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of veterans, ensuring they live with the independence and support they deserve. We work closely with veterans and their families to address specific care requirements, ensuring veterans receive the care they need.

Veterans and spouses of veterans can use their VA benefits towards the following VA care programs from Assisting Hands Home Care:

VA Home Health Aide (HHA) Homemaker/ Home Health Program

With our VA home health aide program, veterans can get 12 hours of home care each week. The HHA program assists with personal care and daily activities, allowing veterans to remain in their homes. Our professional caregivers are highly trained to assist veterans who have dementia, behavioral health needs, PTSD, or disabilities, improving their overall well-being. Care recipients must first be evaluated for geriatric extended care (GEC) by a social worker (SW), registered nurse (RN), or medical doctor (MD). Veterans must meet the following criteria to qualify:

  • Significant cognitive impairment
  • Dependency for 3 or more activities of daily living (ADLs)

VA Respite Care Program

If a senior veteran receives care from a family member, they can get care through our VA respite care program. This VA program provides short-term or temporary relief for family caregivers to visit loved ones, go on a short vacation, and/or use the time for their own self-care. To qualify, a Geriatric Extended Care (GEC) assessment must be completed. This involves a social worker (SW), a registered nurse (RN), and a medical doctor (MD). To be eligible for this program, veterans must meet the following criteria:

  • Dependency for 3 or more ADLs
  • Significant cognitive impairment

Retired U.S. veterans and the spouses of veterans can receive respite care and home health care through our VA care program if they qualify for VA benefits. We can help advise you on the best options for VA care to help meet the specific care needs of your loved ones.
