Meet Wolfgang Willems, Owner and Advocate for Families

Wolfgang Willems brings nearly two decades of international experience in engineering, leadership, and project management. His path to home care was shaped by personal experience—caring for his first child, who lived with severe disabilities. Through those years, Wolfgang gained a deep understanding of the challenges families face when supporting a loved one with complex needs.

Inspired to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, Wolfgang became the owner of Assisting Hands Home Care – Frisco in 2021. His goal is to provide families with compassionate support while building a team of caregivers who are dedicated to treating every client with patience, respect, and genuine care.

Today, under Wolfgang’s leadership, our Frisco team combines professional expertise with a heartfelt commitment to helping clients live safely and comfortably at home. Families can feel confident knowing their loved ones are supported by caregivers who truly care about their well-being.

Home Care Frequently Asked Questions

How do you talk to an elderly parent who refuses help?
Start the conversation with empathy and focus on safety and independence rather than limitations. Listen to their concerns, involve them in decisions, and introduce help gradually. Many seniors become more open to care when they realize it allows them to stay independent and remain safely in their home.
What is the difference between home care and home health care?
Home care provides non-medical assistance such as bathing help, meal preparation, companionship, and transportation. Home health care includes medical services, such as skilled nursing, therapy, and clinical care prescribed by a physician.
What makes in-home senior care different from family caregiving?
Professional caregivers provide trained, reliable support that complements family involvement. They can assist with daily tasks, safety monitoring, and specialized care, allowing family members to focus on quality time rather than caregiving stress.

Friends of us had used Assisting Hands in Frisco in the past, and they referred them to us. That was good advice as Assisting Hands is doing a great job of taking care of my mom. The caregivers are very much on time, and the care director keeps me in the loop diligently. So, I can recommend Assisting Hands to anyone searching for dependable senior care in Frisco.

The care they provide for my father is awesome. Most of the time the caregivers are one time. If they are running late, the office will always inform us. Nevertheless their caregivers are knowledgeable and just lovely with him. What we also appreciate is that Assisting Hands helped us to understand my father's long term care insurance policy and navigated us through the whole process to get the benefits approved. Without them I wouldn't have had any idea how to handle this complex situation.

When loved ones get to this level of care, it takes a special group of folks that you can rely on and trust. Wolfgang was very personable and reassuring which definitely eased our decision. Thank you!

Assisting Hands has been an absolute blessing for our family. From the very first call, their staff was warm, professional, and incredibly responsive. The caregivers are compassionate, patient, and truly treat my dad with respect and dignity. I can’t express how much peace of mind they’ve given us knowing our dad is in reliable and caring hands. They go above and beyond in every way, and their communication is outstanding. If you’re looking for trustworthy, high-quality home care, I would highly recommend Assisting Hands. They have made such a positive difference in our lives.

May 14, 2026Wolfgang Willems
Key Summary: Most seniors should wash their hair once or twice a week. Those with dry or sensitive scalps do better washing once a week or every ten days, while seniors with oilier scalps or more active lifestyles may need to wash two to three times a week. The Power of Nurses

May 7, 2026Wolfgang Willems

Every day, nurses work under enormous pressure. Hospital stays are shorter, patients are more medically complex, and the expectations to prevent readmissions continue to rise. Yet one of the biggest challenges often begins after discharge, when patients return home and try to manage medications, mobility, nutrition, and recovery on their own. We believe great care does not stop at the…

AFFORDABILITY IN HOME CARE

Keeping a loved one in the comfort of their own home is priceless. After a long hospital stay, for example, coordinating the logistics of bathing, meal prep and cleanup, pharmacy runs, etc. can be overwhelming, especially if the patient has adult children whose career requires full-time work. Rather than leaving a good paying job to take care of mom or dad, many families turn to a caregiver.  There are four primary ways to pay for home care.
