We realize that you want the best possible in-home care for your senior loved one. In order to let your loved one live out their senior years in familiar settings, you must choose trustworthy and economical home care in Plano, Frisco and surrounding areas such as McKinney, Prosper, Allen, Little Elm.

In-home senior care services might raise a slew of concerns.
- Can we afford the services of a professional caregiver?
- Is Mom going to be able to stay at home?
- How will we get by?
- Who will assist Dad when I am at work or with the children?
As a rule, you are charged by the hour, exactly the time the caregiver was there for you. There are two main factors that influence the hourly rate.
- For short visits we must charge more because the travel for the caregiver and the organizational effort has a greater impact on the costs. The more hours you book per week, the cheaper we can offer you the caregiver hour.
- The exact content of the care can also play a role. Nobody is alike. Everyone’s demands are varied and necessitate a different amount of attention. We can manage any level of help your loved one requires, from occasional respite care for the family caregiver to temporary in-home care while the family caregiver is away, to daily visits and overnight care. We adhere to your and your loved one’s timetable and budget.
For clients who require 24-hour care on a long-term basis, we offer a very attractive “live-in” option.
Some customers qualify for third party cost recovery:
- Long-Term Care Insurance: If you have taken out such insurance and now qualify for benefits, we will be happy to help you through the bureaucracy jungle. We will be happy to advise you on how to apply for benefits. Once the insurance company is ready to cover the costs, there are usually two phases:
- You as a customer pay us and we submit the invoices and other proofs for you to your insurance company. With a small delay, the insurance company will then reimburse all or part of the cost of your care directly to the care recipient.
- If your insurance allows it, you can also issue us an Assignment of Benefits. Then we submit the invoices as usual to your insurance company, which pays us directly.
- Veterans Affairs Respite Program: If you or a loved one is a veteran in need of caregiver care, you can get respite care via our VA home care program. Our caregivers will attend at the house at predetermined times to provide care, allowing the primary caregiver time off. Those who qualify for this program must first undergo an evaluation by a registered nurse, social worker, or medical doctor.
Those that qualify must also fulfill at least one of the following requirements:
- Dependency with three or more ADLs
- Severe cognitive impairment
- Veterans Affairs Home Health Program: Our VA Home Health Program offers qualified veterans up to 12 hours of geriatric care each week. Those who meet the eligibility requirements must be evaluated for geriatric extended care (GEC) by a medical doctor (MD), social worker (SW), and registered nurse (RN).
Those who qualify for our VA Home Health Program must fulfill one of the following requirements:
- Dependency with three or more ADLs
- Severe cognitive impairment
- Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit: Most veterans are not aware of the eldercare benefits available through veterans health care. One particular VA program is called Veterans Pension or more commonly known as “Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit”. Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit can provide up to $2,400 per month for veterans and their spouses and can be used to pay for personal care services. But who qualifies for Aid and Attendance?
- Pension is for veterans, spouses of veterans, or surviving spouses of veterans aged 65 and older.
- The veteran must have served “Active Duty” during a period of war.
- The veteran/spouse must meet certain asset and income limits and need assistance with daily living on a regular basis to stay independent at home.
The good news is that Assisting Hands Frisco can help qualified veterans get through the approval process quickly and with less hassle.
