Assisting Hands Home Care provides respite care for seniors and adults with limitations in Plano, Frisco, and nearby areas including McKinney, Prosper, Allen, Little Elm, Celina, Van Alstyne, Anna, Melissa, Roland, and New Hope, allowing family caregivers to take a break and attend to their own needs.

Caring for an elderly, chronically ill, or disabled family member is frequently a part of everyday life. Many families take great pleasure in caring for their loved ones so that they can stay at home. However, without some support, such as respite, the physical, emotional, and financial consequences for the family caregiver can be overwhelming. Caring for a loved one can be exhausting. It’s physically and mentally taxing. As a result, it stands to reason that a caregiver requires a break. Respite care relieves caregivers, whether they are caring for aging parents, a spouse, a loved one with a disease, or supervising teens, particularly those with special needs. Nobody is capable of doing it alone. Taking care of your loved one at home is the most loving thing you can do for them. As the primary caregiver for an elderly parent or relative, you always make sure that they have what they need to be comfortable at home. However, balancing your loved one’s needs with your own can be difficult. Family caregivers should make time to focus on other priorities, but this can be difficult to do while ensuring your loved one’s safety in their own home. It is not a bad thing to request a break. After all, we’re all human, and we don’t always run like clockwork. It is normal to feel exhausted, stressed, or overwhelmed by our obligations. And once you do, you can still ensure the comfort of your loved ones by contacting home care providers like Assisting Hands Home Care. We can provide the support your loved one requires so you don’t burn out from caregiver responsibilities with our respite care services.

Our Respite Care Program

Assisting Hands Respite care services from Home Care offer short-term breaks that can relieve stress, restore energy, and promote balance in your life. Respite care can be arranged for short-term or ongoing assistance. Care can also be provided on a regular basis. The goal of respite care is to alleviate the stress and anxiety that caregivers frequently experience. And respite care offers a number of options. Our compassionate in-home care addresses the needs of both the caregiver and the affected family member. Our caregivers are skilled at providing additional personal and homemaker services to family and friends so that the caregiver can take a break or simply spend quality time with their loved one. Even with the best intentions, caring for a loved one while managing your career, household, and personal life can be a huge challenge. We specialize in providing comprehensive and personalized in-home senior care for elderly adults in Collin, Denton and Dallas County, TX. We will match your loved one with the right caregiver who will provide compassionate care. Our respite care program allows you to schedule a caregiver to visit your loved one as often as they require care. They can visit your sick loved ones several times per week to provide them with daily living assistance.

Seeking help and maintaining your own health are critical components of managing your role as a caregiver. It is best to seek respite care before you become exhausted, isolated, or overwhelmed. However, simply anticipating regular relief can be a lifesaver. Call Assisting Hands Home Care today, and we will assist you in developing a respite care plan that considers both your and your loved one’s needs.

How Assisting Hands Can Be Beneficial

There are numerous types of respite care available. Here is a list of some of the services that we offer. It is by no means exhaustive, but it will give you a good idea of how we can assist you. What do you require?

  • Personal assistance is available. We are happy to look after plants and pets, answer the door, assist with grocery list preparation, and organize mail.
  • Maintaining Contact: When someone is down or recovering from a treatment, it’s nice to have someone there who can fix a bowl of soup or make a clean bed.
  • Home Maintenance Supervisor: When home maintenance is scheduled, it’s helpful to have someone on hand to supervise the work – whether it’s painting, HVAC work, gardening, or other maintenance.
  • Companionship care: Assisting Hands can provide someone to sit with a loved one and talk, read the news, and keep your loved one occupied. Please visit our companionship page for more information on companion care.
  • Keeping Loved Ones Involved: We can provide reading assistance or read a book with your loved one.
  • Running Errands and Attending Appointments: Perhaps your loved one would appreciate company while grocery shopping or someone to accompany them to appointments. Assisting Hands is happy to assist.
  • Paying Visits: Taking your loved one out of the house to visit relatives, friends, or neighbors can be beneficial and even improve their outlook. We would be delighted to assist with any of these visits.
  • Personal Hygiene: We assist with daily grooming, including dressing and undressing, bathing and toileting.

We’ll Conduct a In-Home Assessment

Assisting Hands will gladly speak with you or visit with you to determine your needs. Our evaluation includes the following:

  • Identifying your requirements for the type, skills, frequency, and location of respite care. Is it support that you require the most as a caregiver? Or is it just regular downtime? Or perhaps transportation assistance? Or perhaps a weekend away.
  • Determining your loved one’s needs, abilities, and preferences Are social activities the most important? Do they need help walking, eating, or taking medications? Are they in need of mental stimulation? Or what about exercise?
  • Determining how much time you need to be away from your loved one Do you require services that will last a few hours, a few days, or even overnight?

Our Caregivers

Caregivers at Assisting Hands are trained to provide non-medical assistance to our clients for a variety of reasons. We work hard in every case to find the best person to come into your home and care for your family member. Our caregivers have received special training to provide in-home care. And all of our caregivers have passed thorough background checks. They are also insured, bonded, and CPR certified. Most importantly, they CARE.

Wolfgang Willems, the owner, and his team at Assisting Hands serving Frisco and Plano are top notch! We have been using them since July 2022 to help care for our mother who experienced life-changing illness in June. Coping with hospitals, insurance companies and rehab facilities has been so emotionally and physically draining on our family and we felt we were caught in a downward, never-ending spiral. Then someone told us about Assisting Hands. We did some research on them and other similar caregivers and finally decided on Assisting Hands. I cannot stress enough how wonderful they have been and how much they have helped our family. They have allowed us to share the burden of care and given us time to focus on the more important aspects of multiple therapies and recovery.

Assisting Hands Frisco is doing a phenomenal job by caring for my mother. It all started with both an easy but diligent intake done by Henny, their care manager. Already the next day after the intake, we had the first caregiver coming to my mother's home. Henny calls my mother and me every week just to keep everyone in the loop. The caregivers are on time and care for my mother as if she were a family member.

Our experience with Assisting Hands of Frisco has truly been outstanding. From our initial conversation, their team made us feel supported, informed, and confident that we were in good hands. The intake with Henny was smooth, thorough, and reassuring, and we were amazed that a caregiver was available to start helping almost immediately. The care plan they developed was detailed, thoughtful, and clearly tailored to our family’s needs.

Henny has been incredible throughout this process — compassionate, attentive, and always proactive in checking in and keeping communication flowing. Megan and the rest of the office staff are just as impressive. They stay organized, follow up promptly, and consistently make sure every detail is handled. That level of coordination and reliability has brought our family so much peace of mind.

The caregivers themselves are dependable, skilled, and genuinely kind. They arrive on time, are well prepared, and treat our loved ones with patience, dignity, and sincere care. We especially appreciate the consistency of caregivers, which has made a meaningful difference for a family member who benefits from familiar faces. Any time we’ve needed changes or assistance, the team responds quickly and professionally.

Wolfgang, the owner, clearly leads by example. His dedication to quality care shows in every interaction we’ve had with the company. The team even walked us through the long-term care insurance process, helping us understand and secure benefits we wouldn’t have known how to pursue on our own.

During what has been a very challenging season for our family, Assisting Hands has provided not only dependable care but also reassurance and relief. Their services are fairly priced, their staff is exceptional, and their commitment to families is obvious.

If you need trustworthy, compassionate home care in the Frisco area, I highly recommend Assisting Hands. They’ve made a meaningful difference for us and have truly become part of our support system.
