Marina Ramirez, owner of Assisting Hands Palm Beach, participated in last Tuesday’s meeting of the West Palm Beach Rotary Club which hosted 41 students along with their families, teachers and principals for our annual Bike Project. Each Principal from our partnering Elementary Schools were asked to select two students who are deserving of a new bicycle based on how the students demonstrate the philosophy of Service Above Self in their everyday lives.
Most of the students were described with words such as respectful, hardworking, positive attitude, helpful, honest and fair. These students all demonstrate leadership in the classroom and activities outside of school. There were a few stories of students experiencing tragedy in their family and still making it to school every day with a smile on their face ready to learn. We met an incredible group of motivated, model students.
A big thank you to Greg Kissel and Jack Hairston, along with his crew from Jack The Bike Man, for coordinating this project and putting it all together on Tuesday! The smiles on the faces of the students says it all!!!
THANK YOU to all who donated to the Bike Project!
