Marina Ramirez presents “Understanding and Responding to Dementia Related Behaviors” at Morselife Senior Living
Behavior is a very visceral form to communicate. As language abilities are lost, behavior is one of the main ways for patients with dementia to share their wants and emotions. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage.
In July, Marina Ramirez, owner of Assisting Hands Palm Beach, presented, as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association, “Understanding and Responding to Dementia Related Behaviors” at MorseLife Senior Living. This two-hour presentation aims to help caregivers learn to decode behavioral triggers and obtain strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. The goals include:
- Learn how to identify common triggers for behaviors associated with dementia
- Learn how to assess and identify challenging behaviors
- Learn strategies to address common dementia-related behaviors
